Whether you are currently an athlete or not, having a partner who truly understands your perspective and shares the same experiences is invaluable.

Unlike most dating apps which rely on common interests and experiences, Playoff ensures that each potential match shares a significant life experience with you. Whether your athletic career was cut short due to injury, being cut from a team, or pursuing other passions, Playoff caters to any athlete who has competed after high school in a verified collegiate or professional program for at least one season. This includes athletes from Junior College, NAIA, all NCAA divisions, as well as professional and Olympic athletes who did not attend college.

The verification process is in place to confirm that each user has been part of a team roster for at least one season. Regardless of playing time or scholarship status, Playoff acknowledges and respects the commitment and sacrifices required from all athletes who have participated in a collegiate or professional organization.

Athletes can use the free version of Playoff, which provides filters for age, gender, and distance. Alternatively, they have the option to purchase the premium version of the app for $7.99 per month. The premium version grants athletes the ability to filter potential matches based on the sports they play and the schools they attended. Furthermore, athletes with the premium version will have unlimited "mulligans", allowing them to revisit athletes they previously swiped through.

After verification, athletes will commence by creating their profiles. They can log in through Facebook, upload and crop pictures, set up filters, input athletic information, and write a short bio about themselves. Once their profile is complete, athletes can immediately begin swiping through potential matches. When two athletes match, they can start chatting with each other. Playoff keeps track of recent matches and all conversations for each user.

• Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Subscriptions can be managed by the user and auto-renewal can be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable.
